Make sure you call Senator Nelson from Nebraska about health care.
Since the public option has been dropped, the pressure will be on him
to pass the health care bill. No public option means they got
Lieberman. They bought off Landrieu in Louisiana. One step on the way
to 60 votes is Nelson in Nebraska.
They (the administration) have already rumored that Offutt might be closed if he doesn't vote for it. There's a 500 million earmark waiting for him, too, if he votes for it ($800 million in buyouts for 2 senators, no wonder McCaskill in MO is itching for some attention).
Make sure everyone you know in his state knows about this, and calls him too. He can't let the pressure get to him, at all. He's the 60th vote. I know you know how important that fact is.
Please, let them know!
If you are in favor of this bill, you should let him know, too, so he can vote for you. Just remember, the majority of americans are not in favor of this. It spells financial doom for health care, and for our economy. Read up on it, and do the math. But, the next 24-48 hours are the most important. Otherwise, it might not get passed before Xmas, and the reps will be back for vacation in their district, and will be open to criticism from you, their constituents.
Be heard!

One of the best comments on a blog, evah!
This should go down in Ace history as "comment 130". In it's entirety from Ace of Spades comment 130
So very insightful, and one of the reasons Sarah Palin is so appealing to a lot of us. Read her book, there's plenty of other examples.
I think I figured out what makes her so special. OK, there are many things I know, but if I boil it down and strip everything away here it is.
Sarah is content and does'nt care if she goes down guns blazing. What I mean when I say she doesnt care is not that she does'nt care about the country, FAR FROM IT, but that she does'nt care if she dies politically because in her mind she has it all. Great husband, great kids, great family, strong faith. Thats all she needs. She doesnt NEED to be president to satisy her ego or to be loved by the press, or to be loved by anyone outside of her family and friends. She knows that if politics ended tomorrow for her, she would be FINE and would LOVE IT! She would be with her family in Alaska, she would play with Trig and enjoy his growing up process. She would enjoy the outdoors, cook, shoot, pray, and have a great life.
Unlike everyone else in DC, she does not need validation so thats why she says "I have nothing to lose," and "If I die, I die." Losing a campaign is nothing to her which is why she is so scary to the left. Losing her son in war is bad, losing a campaign is nothing. Worst case, she goes back to the place she loves to be with the people she loves. Thats a fantasy for most people and she knows it! She has perspective that DC does not have! You can't scare someone, or intimidate someone who has no fear of what you can do to them. Sarah is not scared of losing a campaign and going home to the place she LOVES!
I think I hit the nail on the head with this one! Let me know if you agree. If not, keep it to yourself! JUST KIDDING

Ok, I have 1 week
I have to come up with as much supporting evidence that deficit spending is bad. Also, every decision ever made by Dubya has to be defended (I know, it's just covering my ass). Gotta show Carter for the economic idiot that he was, and how Reagan's policies actually worked.
Sounds so easy, but so daunting.
